Discover Serenity and Wellness at Satsang Foundation New Zealand Retreat

The Satsang Foundation New Zealand is set to host a two-day non-residential retreat at the tranquil Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre in Albany, Auckland. This exclusive event offers a unique opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in serene surroundings and delve into the practices of yoga and meditation. Limited to just 50 individuals aged 16 years and older, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, promising an intimate experience for all attendees. Please note that kriya initiation will not be included in this retreat.

Running from May 29th to June 9th, the retreat will feature a comprehensive program designed to nurture both the body and mind. Participants can expect to engage in various yoga practices, including postures (Asanas), breathing techniques (Pranayama), Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskara), Trataka (Eye Exercises), and Meditation techniques (OM and Cyclic). A detailed agenda will be provided to registered participants, ensuring a structured and enriching experience throughout the retreat.

Event Schedule Highlights:

  • May 29th: The retreat kicks off with an Inauguration and Online Satsang session with Sri M from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m.
  • June 8th: A full day of yoga practices and pre-recorded discourses on Ishavasya Upanishad by Sri M, running from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • June 9th: The retreat concludes with another day of yoga practices and pre-recorded discourses on Ishavasya Upanishad by Sri M, starting from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Retreat Highlights:

  • Introduction to Yoga and Science of Yoga: Participants will gain insights from Patanjali Yoga Sutras and Yoga Vasista, exploring mindfulness and techniques for regulating the mind, body, and breath.
  • Asanas/Postures: Learn and practice a range of postures using techniques from Patanjali Yoga Sutras, benefiting flexibility, body stiffness, weight loss, asthma, and diabetes prevention.
  • Sri M’s Discourses: Engage in discussions on Ishavasya Upanishad through pre-recorded discourses by Sri M, delving into profound spiritual teachings.
  • Surya Namaskara/Sun Salutations: Experience a series of postures performed seamlessly, accompanied by Bija mantras to stimulate organs and chakra awareness for energy balance.
  • Pranayama/Breathing Techniques: Learn breathing practices from Patanjali Yoga Sutras for overall well-being, fitness, and concentration enhancement.
  • Meditation Techniques: Explore the significance of meditation through OM Meditation and Cyclic Meditation, aimed at reducing stress and enhancing productivity.
  • Trataka and Candle Meditation: Engage in eye exercises to improve eyesight and concentration, followed by meditation using a candle to focus and defocus.

This retreat promises to be a transformative journey towards holistic wellness, guided by the expertise of The Satsang Foundation New Zealand. Participants can look forward to rejuvenating their mind, body, and spirit in the serene ambiance of Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre while gaining valuable insights into the ancient practices of yoga and meditation.
