In a series of alarming incidents, bomb threats have been reported at educational institutions and medical facilities across India. Authorities are on high alert, investigating the source of these threats and ensuring public safety.

Jaipur Schools Receive Bomb Threats

On May 13, 2024, at least four schools in Jaipur, Rajasthan, received bomb threats via email1. Following a similar event in Delhi and Ahmedabad, where 131 schools in Delhi, five in Gurugram, and three in Noida received bomb threats, the police swiftly evacuated students and staff members from the affected schools. Police teams, along with bomb and dog squads, were dispatched to the scene. The sender of these threatening emails is currently under investigation.

Delhi Hospitals Also Targeted

Delhi, the capital city, faced a similar situation. On May 12, 2024, bomb threats were emailed to Delhi airport and several hospitals, including Burari Government Hospital and Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri2. Despite the threats being labeled as hoaxes, authorities took immediate action. Bomb disposal squads were deployed, and thorough searches were conducted. Fortunately, no suspicious items were found.

Precautions and Vigilance

In response to the hoax bomb threats, the Delhi Police issued an advisory to school administrators. They emphasized the need to promptly check official school email accounts and inform parents and law enforcement authorities about any impending threats. The safety and security of students remain a top priority.

While these threats have caused panic and disruption, authorities are working diligently to ensure public safety. Vigilance, timely communication, and coordinated efforts are essential to prevent such incidents and maintain a secure environment for educational institutions and hospitals.
